Stacie Bowman

Reiki Practitioner, Teacher and Tai Chi Instructor

Stacie is a Certified Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner in the Usui Reiki Ryoho method. She completed her Level 1 and Level 2 training in 2008 under Janice Anderson, RN, HN-BC, ACHt, RMT, who is the owner of InsideOut Wholistic Wellness and Thermography in Byfield, MA. Stacie received her remaining levels of training from Libby Barnett of Reiki Healing Connection in Asheville, NC. In 2023, she completed her Master of Masters training with Libby. Stacie is qualified to teach, train, and certify students in Reiki from Levels 1 to Mastery, and she offers classes that embrace a non-dogmatic approach to the practice.

Stacie’s approach to Reiki is significantly influenced by her practice of internal martial arts and Qigong. She acknowledges that Reiki has its roots in Eastern philosophies and honors its origins, which predate Master Usui’s efforts to make it widely accessible. Additionally, Stacie draws inspiration from the fact that Master Usui was both a martial artist and an energy-healing practitioner, aligning closely with her passion for these traditions.

Stacie is an active practitioner of internal martial arts and Qigong. Internal martial arts focus on mental, spiritual and qi cultivation practices. She practiced external traditional Chinese martial arts in her youth at Yang’s Martial Arts Andover under the guidance of Alex Kiesel, and discovered a passion for internal arts as an adult. Stacie studies internal arts with her teacher, Chris Himmel, owner of Great Bay Tai Chi, Ma.

In 2022, Stacie became an assistant instructor of Tai Chi at Great Bay Tai Chi, and in 2024 she moved into the role of instructor. In 2023, she earned a first-place medal in the Taijiquan Barehand Forms Beginners Division and another first-place medal in the Other Barehand Forms Beginners Division for Xingyiquan at the Chinese Martial Arts Autumn Invitational. Stacie enjoys practicing both barehand forms and weapons training

She practices the arts of Qigong, traditional Yang Style Taijiquan (Long Form, 108), Taijiquan fighting/matching set, pushing hands and applications, Tai Chi for Good Health (Short Form, 24), Tai Chi ball, saber and sword, and Wudang San Feng Natural Style Arts (Baguazhang and Xingyiquan). The internal training of these arts is essential for martial training. In qigong practice, one uses the mind to direct qi through the body with intention. Maintaining these practices together supports self-cultivation and spiritual development. To deepen her training, Stacie attended traditional Chinese medicine theory and medical qigong seminars with Lynne Bourque Deschenes of The Access Clinic for WellnessDr. Yang Jwing-Ming and his daughter Kathy Yang of TCM Time, respectively. As her experience with medical qigong grew, Stacie recognized the connection between it and Reiki. She sought to find a teacher skilled in both Reiki and Qigong Healing to guide her. In 2024, Stacie began Qigong Healing training with Master Lisa O’Shea, owner of the Qigong Institute of Rochester, who is both a Reiki and Qigong Master; Master Lisa is a certified Qigong Master under Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming. Stacie looks forward to continue learning from all of these incredible teachers, and deepening her knowledge of Medical Qigong and experience with Qi Healing.

Stacie has been a studio potter for 24 years, and her energy work practice informs her pottery making. She uses Reiki with a set intention to guide her when creating vessels; there is a point where you have to turn off your mind, let the energy flow and rely on sensing and feeling the clay. She finds many similarities in Tai Chi theory with throwing clay on the wheel; a vessel is centered through the skills of listening, guiding, adding or releasing pressure, and yielding to the clay in motion; there is a Yang hand to push/guide the clay and a Yin hand to catch it, working together in balance creates a centered vessel. Comparing throwing on the wheel to Daoist philosophy, she finds that the interplay of these energies reflects the Yin-Yang dynamic, with the process of shaping the vessel representing the constant change and balance. The finished vessel symbolizes the moment of stillness in the Wuji state.

Stacie holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Salem State University.
